One of the classic educational toys for toddlers is the stacking rings. No batteries required! The colors and shapes help the toddler with depth perception, recognitions of color, and size orientation. The stacking toys come in plastic, wood, and now cloth for a multitude of tactile experiences. Many people consider this educational toy for younger children, but a toddler from 12 months to 2 years can still enjoy the challenges of a staking educational toy.

Some other great educational toys for toddlers are the blocks in a shape box. This toy promotes hand eye coordination, color recognition, and core logic skills (i.e. the square shape may go into the round shape, but the round one only goes in one hole).
