Multicultural educational games– diversity in learning

Now you can learn about other people and cultures with a multicultural educational game --in this case, Spanish toys and games.  When you think of games you might think of having fun and goofing off, but games can be a learning experience.  If you’re looking to purchase an educational game for an Hispanic child in your life, or one that speaks Spanish, you do not have to search the world. With the advent of the internet and the age of intelligent toys for kids, there are many choices.  When shopping for a Spanish educational game, here are some criteria or things to look for:

1.       What do you want to emphasize in learning? Each Spanish & Hispanic educational game may have a specific goal in mind. Some may concentrate on colors, shapes, sound repetition, phonics, or counting.  If the goal is to introduce phonics in Spanish to a preschool aged child, try and find a game that can adapt and grow, with different cartridges and levels as the child progresses.  A game that concretes on reasoning skills, where bits and pieces must be collected along the way to solve a mystery at the end, would suffice for building logical, reading and reasoning skills.

2.  A musical toy that talks about the different styles of music from around the world would be excellent to teach the multicultural difference in music around the world, including the Hispanic culture.
